Mazda is taking a new, innovative direction with its 2014 line of vehicles. Offering a new design, an upgraded diesel engine, and advanced energy-saving features, the new Mazda6 is the perfect centerpiece for this bold push forward. Here’s an inside look at the newest features of the 2014 Mazda6.
New, Charismatic Design
With so many mid-sized sedans on the market, it can be difficult to settle on the right one. The Mazda6 has something few others possess: Personality. The model’s sleek engineering is far removed from the design-by-committee styling of mid-sized competitors. What you’ll get is a perfect blend of form and function. All the elegant design features play a key role in the engineering, and vice versa.
An Upgraded Diesel Engine
While the diesel engines of the past were loud, dirty, and impractical, today’s varieties are clean, efficient, and suited for any vehicle on the road. With the new SKYACTIV-D engine, Mazda has aimed to correct the lingering limitations of diesel technology. The new engine takes advantage of lighter components and higher compression ratios. That means you can enjoy more power, less weight, cleaner emissions, and better fuel economy.
Innovative Efficiency Features
Cars work by converting fuel into motion energy. They do good job of this in general, but still, when you slow down, much of the energy it took to bring you up to speed is wasted. To better use this energy, Mazda introduced a new regenerative braking system to the 2014 Mazda6 called I-ELOOP. The system works by recovering wasted energy and transferring it to power all of the vehicle’s gizmos and gadgets. That boosts fuel efficiency by five percent and enables all of the Mazda6’s horsepower to go directly to on-the-road performance.
