How to Change a Tire

Last updated 5 years ago

While it is almost always possible to call roadside assistance to get your Mazda’s flat tire changed, it’s good to know how to change a tire on your own in case you are out of service range or stuck with a dead cell phone battery.

After making sure your Mazda is on level ground, pry the wheel cover off and use a wrench to loosen the lug nuts without removing them. Use a jack to raise the vehicle six inches off the ground. Now you can remove the lug nuts by hand and pull the flat tire off. Insert the spare wheel before putting it on and replace the lug nuts, tightening them by hand. After you lower the vehicle, tighten the lug nuts using the wrench, and then replace the wheel cover.

If your Mazda is riding on a spare and needs a new tire, bring it to Brown’s Chantilly Mazda. Our Mazda dealership offers a great selection of quality tires and our Mazda service center is always ready and willing to assist you.
